Previous research demonstrated the ability to produce darobactin using E. coli within engineered materials, paving the way for fine-tuning drug production and release. To evaluate the safety, efficacy, and other properties of antibiotic-producing LTMs, zebrafish larvae will be used as model organisms due to their rapid development, robustness, and transparency. The project will use various transgenic zebrafish lines and established technologies like microinjections and live fluorescence imaging. The goal is to assess the pharmacological properties of LTMs, including their effects on the microbiome, toxicity, immune response, and drug metabolism
